I took another shoe off the shelf that was quite similar to the one I had really liked, and pondered for a bit, and said, "hmm this one's not too bad."
The person I was with then said, "you're settling."
She was right.
You see, I usually have conversations that I forget about later, but sometimes certain words stick out.
Now, I know that that might've been a word from the Lord for me for now, or for the future, but I know it was something I had to pay attention to.
This might be something for you too.
Are you settling? Are you enabling something to stay in your life or enter your life that's LESS than the BEST? Is your mentality still with the things that are of "lesser value"? Whatever it is, God's speaking to you too.
"Are you willing to wait for the best?"
I do praise God I passed this test *phew* but now I'm making sure to pay attention to what does enter my life. I wanted shoes, but today I wasn't all too bothered that I didn't get them when I wanted them (huge milestone if you knew me before!). Even after a word from who I was with, I agreed that I had a chance to go check out the other stores tomorrow.
We're all waiting for something, and it's true, it's hard sometimes, but we have to wait. We have to wait on God's best, and He will provide. He will provide all that you need and more, and He will make sure to provide it at the right time.
It's time to think about that. To think about what to do when you're settling. It's time to ask the Lord to lead you to nothing but the best and to change your mentality to fit His.
The Word says that "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." James 1:17
So don't settle for anything other than God's best. :)
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
