But I don't fit in. . .?

The other day I was reading about the conditions that would qualify me for a specific fee status for my (God willing) future university. I went through the list of categories, and in category 6 it said "read box 7". I went to box 7 to read about the extra conditions. I started scrolling down the screen to read the other conditions in box 8. After reading from another box and feeling frustrated about the amount of information they required, I was told to stop borrowing from the other box.

You see, the other box was full of things that was meant for another category. If I had started borrowing words and conditions from the other box, I started seeing that I possibly could never fit in the criteria that I was trying to claim.

This got me thinking.

How often do we "borrow" from other people? From other things? Other lifestyles? Other places, events, ideas, seasons?

How many times do we look at another person's life and wish we had what they had, or wished we looked like they did?

What if we understood that being a certain way is perfect for them because they are supposed to fulfill a certain purpose that was tailor made  just for them?

This reminded me of the verse in 1 Corinthians 12:15-19 which says, what if the foot said, "I'm not a hand, I do not belong to the body." What if the ear said, "I'm not an eye, I do not belong to the body," or if the whole body were an eye there would be no sense of hearing.

If all the body parts wanted to be another part that they were not, it would be a disaster. When they all first accept their individual part, they will be able to come together and see that they are even more powerful when blended together & required in the functioning of the body.

We have our own individual body, given to us by God, and then we are then placed within a larger body, which is in the family of God. In the body, everyone is uniquely created.

What if the pastor abruptly resigns one day and says, "I want to be on the worship team!" and what if someone in the nursery then says: "okay then, I'll take on the duty of pastor". It just wouldn't fit if it wasn't the calling of God, or if it wasn't a part of God's assignment for them.

The way I started reading all those words from another box to try to see if my claim was valid and was eventually told not take words from there because I would never qualify if I continued to do that, I believe is the same way we should look at life.

Nit picking ourselves and our lives will never work. Looking at other people or other things and trying to mold them into your life just because you noticed it, liked it, or thought it was what was the "in thing" will only wear you out because you will never qualify. The REQUIREMENTS for your God-given destiny has a list below it and it includes the exact height, look, voice, hair, personality, tone, expressions, movements that you have. It lists the talents that you have, and even if others have that same talent, it then has a link that says: "see box 7", and in box 7 it lists your unique way of doing that particular talent that is different from anyone else. If you decided to scroll to box 8 and it was talking about the way you walk or about the next person, you would totally miss the mark.

Let's recognize that we need to stay in our "box", the place that is uniquly designed for us. I once heard someone say: "if you're so busy trying to play everyone else, who's going to play you?"

You're unique, you're a part of the body. You are required in that body, so I encourage you to do your part in the way that you know how and the way that GOD has tailor made for you. Others may or may not see what you have, maybe they haven't have found themselves yet, but don't let that stop you. Continue to do what God has created YOU to do and the only thing that matters is that you are playing the role that was perfectly hand crafted by the Lord Almighty, and He will be the One to reward you when the credits start rolling down the screen at the end of the show.

What if we stopped and contemplated each day about what we are doing? What if we took a moment to say: "Lord, am I playing the role right? Am I being myself? Am I being my authentic self, who I'm created to be? Please help me discover who you want me to be today, and please lead me there. Help me not to settle for carbon copies of others and to not borrow from others' lives. Help me to be the authentic me you created me to be, and to do it well! Amen! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!

God has a lot in store for you.  Just wait and see! Amen!

Once again, keep the faith, and love like you've never loved before.

With love always,

FAITH by Promises
