"Okay..." you must be thinking, "what is she on about with this title?" Well, I'll tell you. Today there was a large daddy long legs insect in our house. If anyone knows me, they know I don't do well with insects, and this one was LARGE. I walked by it very discreetly and made sure to shut the door to my bedroom so it wouldn't come in. I preferred it outside than in the place I slept. Either way, I knew I had to pass it to go up and down the staircase. After tip-toeing around it whilst going down stairs, I finally decided I had had enough. I had wanted to make my face-mask and then go upstairs to have my quiet time and Bible study. The insect had creeped up pretty near the area I wanted to pass by and I didn't know what to do.
Like I said, eventually I had had enough, so I went for the broom. Even though I don't like insects, I try to never kill them as first resort. I make sure that I send them into nature where they belong, so I opened the front door. As I attempted to trigger its movement with the broom, it would move further into the room instead of towards the door. After a few tries and with it getting closer to where I was standing, I was about to give up, until I decided to try one more time and then smack it : ) :P As I did so, it vigorously flew around and then hopped on out the door. I quickly shut the door and was relieved. *Phew* As I walked upstairs to prep for my face mask, I was reminded of David who was driving out the Moabites, his enemies, and also about the wall of Jericho (which was extremely large) that fell down on the 7th day after Joseph and the priests marched around it for some time. *Ching!! -- Light bulb moment!* I had finally understood that that was my territory and I wasn't going to allow anything to occupy it, no matter how scary. I had finally understood that things like this will come and stay in our territory, but we have the authority and power to drive them out. I was no longer letting fear occupy the substance of my home -- figuratively, physically, and spiritually. The old me would've stayed downstairs a little longer to wait until the daddy long legs had moved or until someone came by to do it for me, but that could've taken hours! It wasn't going to work that way this time. My point is this dear friends: Don't let anything deter you from God's plan. No obstacle, no entry, no false testimony, no attire, nothing should/shall deter you from God's plan. If I had stayed downstairs, fearing the daddy long legs, it would've put my quiet time on hold, and God had a revelation for me. In the same way for you, God has a word for you. He has revelation for you. He has something for you which can be taken hold of if you stand strong against the enemies attacks. It might not be an insect like in my case, but it sure will be something to show you that you need to overcome it in order to get to the other side. Amen! Let's stand together in prayer: Lord, I worship You. I thank You for being so wonderful to me. You are faithful, and You are true and I want to glorify Your Name. Help me to get over the obstacles that are deterring me from pursuing the plan you have for me. Help me to go and stand strong in faith knowing that You will always be with me and You will never leave me or forsake me. Father, I worship You, and I want to be led by You. I rebuke the spirit of fear from my life this day. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.
