For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a  future. - Jeremiah 29:11
Picture
We get so caught up sometimes, in what we want to do, where we want to go, who we want to be, and forget that we have a God, a good God who wants the best for us, the very best, to give us life, hope, a future, more than we could ever ask for, but we struggle and fight, throw tantrums, become selfish, and are out about our own way.

We struggle,
because
we're
human.

There's nothing about us that's pure, that's holy, that's sane.
We dig deeper, trying for more, and more, but we end up with nothing,
because
we're
doing
it
ourselves.

What if God called you today? What if He called you out into the nations to do something for Him? What if He called you and said, "leave everything behind; your family, your friends, your kids, your everything, and follow me." What if he said "what you have is nothing compared to what I have in store for you." What if, like the  rich young man, Jesus says: "go, sell all your possessions, and give them to the poor, and you'll have treasure in heaven."

Would you believe Him?

I mean would you REALLY believe Him?

I'm not talking about a simple 'yes' and 'no', I'm talking about walking, and packing your bags, and going, and not resisting. I'm talking about saying good bye and following the One who has called you. I'm talking about putting aside your emotions and not being led by them. I'm talking about your reputation with people  who will start thinking that you're crazy for what you're doing. I'm talking about going out, and walking by faith, and waiting, until God's promises come true. Would you do it?

I witnessed that recently. God brought a lady in my life for a brief season. What He had told me had to be clearly played out right in front of me.

This lady told me about two decisions that she had to make. Both decisions were amazing opportunities, but what stood out to me was when she said: "...but I want to know what GOD wants me to do, what HE wants me to choose."

I was in the midst of a rocky faith walk myself with my indecisiveness over certain decisions. I did have faith, but it wasn't like the faith that was unfolding right in front of me, the faith of the possibility of leaving your.whole.life.behind.

A few weeks later she tells me that the Lord told her to go, to go to another country. She left her family, she left her child, and she went for what the Lord told her to do. Not shortly after, her family made the decision to leave their lives to join her.

Do I think it's easy? no. but the Lord promises more.
This had happened so fast right before my eyes. It had played out so fast right in front of me, and yet I was tugging on little things. So what was God calling me to do? To just leave everything just like that? no, He wants me to be able to obey when He does, He wants me to trust that He will provide, He wants me to know that He has a perfect plan, a perfect way, a perfect road. He wants me to know that He loves me and He's not out to ruin my plans, or divert anything to make me cringe. He wants me to know that His timing is perfect, and that there is so much more...if I just.let.go.

At what point are we going to say: "I love you, but I love God more?" at what point are we going to say: "I choose to follow Jesus, even if none go with me?"

I challenge you to sit down and talk to God, ask Him what He's asking you to leave behind right now in your life. In some cases we might have to go through a storm to get to the other side, but as I always say, we always need the rain if we want to see the flowers grow in time for spring, a new season.

If you have time, please check out Priscilla Shirer's testimony below about the many times she thought her life would go one way, but it went another.

We continue to praise God for His continuous faithfulness, He is so special, so wonderful, so amazing, and so glorious! We love you Lord, Amen! Hallelujah!

With love always,
FAITH by Promises
Have you ever had to leave something behind? Did you struggle when you had to let go? I'd love to hear about it!
