"When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?" -Psalm 56:3-4
God wants to set you free. He really does.
When I was living in fear of certain people and aspects in my life, I didn't realize that that fear stemmed from evil spirits around me, or in the people around me. I didn't understand it...yet.
You see, that's what deception does. It makes you think that the "good" parts about something are ALL that matters, but we have to look at the full picture.
Just like the young man who wanted to get into heaven. He told Jesus about how he had done everything (like giving to the poor etc), and Jesus said: "now sell your possessions, give them to the poor, and then follow me."
Just because this young man did all the "works" that appeared good, doesn't mean that he passed the "test" to get into heaven. Jesus wanted his heart. He wanted this man's heart to be His, and all His, and this "test" proved that his heart was not fully unto Jesus, but more on other things to prove something.
That's what deception does. It makes one think that because there is SOME type of truth to something or just because one area is "not all bad", then it's ALRIGHT to enter that place, or that relationship, or stay, or do whatever it is that it's asking you to...
What a rude awakening huh? So much for a sweet conversation before bed time! [--Just kidding! I truly appreciated it, and shout out to all the peeps who tell us the truth, and who God speaks through!! Amen! :) ]
As much as we want to believe the best about everything, or everyone, it's VERY important to be aware.
I feel like this is going to help somebody (including myself). I feel like someone really needs to hear this (again, including myself).
Don't settle for abuse, for moments of happiness that disguise themselves as deception. Those moments are put in there by the enemy to trigger your hormone called dopamine, where it's a nice rush/moment of happiness, which goes up, and then comes crashing down. As soon as the painful moments begin or extend and you're about to take action about it, the enemy comes again, and "tickles" that hormone (figuratively speaking of course).
Friend, unless it is based on truth, on God's victory, it will always come crushing down, that's why it's deceptive.
I just felt the need to say this, to say, "be careful" and that God loves you. He loves you very much and He doesn't want to see you cry and get hurt. He doesn't want to see you go far down and end up somewhere else. He doesn't want to see you upset and angry over something. He doesn't want to see you hurt.
Once again, this is what I wrote yesterday, "When you start to see your God as BIGGER, nothing can block you, NOTHING! I'm learning to see now that no weapon formed against me shall prosper, none at all."
I've started to see MY God as BIGGER. He is bigger. He is bigger than the manipulations, bigger than the abuse, bigger than the triggers, bigger than the enemy.
The more we confess this, the more we believe it, the more we see it, feel it, and the SMALLER the enemy becomes.
The more we forgive people, DAILY (it HAS to be on a daily basis) and leave it all to God, and confess ALL of our feelings to Him and are truly open with Him, the more FREE we are, and the MORE we'll see Him as BIGGER. The enemy becomes tiny.
I have to admit that the enemy was once big, so big in fact that I believed his lies, but now, God is BIG, He is biggER than all things in this world combined, and more than what my mind could ever imagine! Amen! :)
Please know this dear friend, that NO weapon formed against you shall prosper. God loves you so much and wants to see YOU prosper. He wants to see you light up and be bright in the sky just like one of His stars. Don't believe the enemy's lies; he is only as big as the space/time you give him; give him none, and you'll go far. The blood of Christ is always protecting you. Believe it, know it, & walk in it. In Jesus' Name, Amen! :)
Of course it's only APPROPRIATE to put a Joyce Meyer quote...duh (for those who have been reading my recent posts you know what I mean! ;-)
"when you make an EFFORT to pursue God wholeheartedly, and follow Him, the enemy will attack you with fear (because he doesn't want you getting closer to God and fulfilling His calling)." So keep straining towards what is ahead (Philippians 3:13).
