"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." -James 1:17 Side note: I found a quote that really stuck out to me. It said, "The good things in this world are not truly good, in comparison of the good things of the world to come." (From Gills Exposition) Definitely a good one to meditate on and think about! :) Amen. So...speaking of gifts, Matthew 7:11 says, "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!" Amen! When I read that I was like..."ahh how much more will my Father give what is good..." and then I got to the part of: "to those who ask Him." Haha, :) so I read the verse again :) and what stuck out to me was again, was, ask Him. :) Friend, ask Him :) He wants to hear your voice, your heart, asking Him. He is in fact, your heavenly daddy. I received a gift last week, in the form of an opportunity. I had read this verse, and I hopped on along, happy that I'd read it, until today, when I REALLY got it. :) You see, my Abba so graciously opened my eyes to see that that opportunity wasn't some random chance of "oh such and such decided to give me a chance to do xyz", no, He wanted me to know that He had opened that door and that it was His. It was His perfect gift, all done for me. I had even prayed about it before, and when the opportunity occurred, I did thanked God, but had not yet fully realized that this is what He meant by His perfect gifts coming from Him alone. Your heavenly Daddy wants to please you my dear child. He wants to see you happy and joyful to His Heavenly and precious Name. Now, it doesn't mean that every gift will come in the form of angels floating down with it wrapped up in a large bow (although that would be lush) but it will come in the form of what our Daddy knows best, because He knows the full outcome of all things. When I had also received the gift, I had thought: "hmmm I wonder why this person just decide to give this to me.." not in a suspicious way at all, but it was just that I had thought it had come "just like that!" (if you know what I mean) but now I believe it was God who said, my child, what you have been asking for, I have given you, it's all from me. My point is: He's ready to bless you this day. Believe that He will. The verse also says that He is the Author of the heavenly lights. He is the Author of all lights indeed, which is good. In Genesis 1:4, it says, "God saw that the light was good and He separated it from the darkness." The Author who did this in verse 4, is the same one who will supply what it is that you need. Even then, He, Himself, although everything else around us may change, including the gifts we receive, He will never change. Even the visible lights that He created (sun, moon, lights in our house, candle lights etc.) will also change at some point, but God will never change, He remains the same, Always and forever. Stay blessed my fam <3 Let's Pray: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your good gifts that come from you. Thank you that your gifts are perfect, and that you know how to give good gifts to your children. Thank you Lord that even with these gifts, what is to come is even greater! You are so wonderful, so wonderful! Help me Lord to ask, to also notice and know when these perfect gifts come from you. Help me not to be blind to what you have so graciously provided and placed in front of me. All glory be to you Father, in Jesus' Name I pray, Amen. A Few Items on the List:
